About

Branislav Nenin

Brand photographer and director. Ten years of commissioned work — around ten productions a year for law firms, wineries and hospitality, and from this year, for clients abroad as well.

Two worlds, one job: firms that sell trust, and places that sell craft. In both, the product is invisible until someone decides to believe in it — and the images do that believing on everyone else's behalf.

I learned photography inside a graphic design studio — the only job I have ever had. There a photograph was never judged on its own. It was judged by whether it worked in the layout it was made for, at the size it would be used. That is still the first question I ask on a brief.

One production, in numbers

One hundred people. Eight minutes each. Five stations.

Ernst & Young, photographed to a single standard. Several rounds of interviews before anything was agreed, five lighting set-ups built and tested in advance, a spare body and a spare light at every one of them — because eight minutes per person was all there was, for all five stations. Nobody waited, and the hundredth portrait matches the first.
