This Retouching, Deliverables and Artistic Standards Policy defines the professional standards, retouching approach, deliverables, revision limits, and quality expectations applicable to all photography services provided by Fine Grain LLC. This Policy applies to all clients, packages, sessions, and delivered materials unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing. This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Service.
Fine Grain LLC maintains a consistent, brand aligned photographic style focused on authenticity, professionalism, and long term usability. Artistic decisions related to lighting, composition, framing, color, contrast, and expression are made based on professional judgment and the outcomes discussed prior to or during the session. By engaging the Company, clients acknowledge familiarity with the Company’s portfolio and accept the established artistic style.
Retouching is performed with restraint and integrity. The objective of retouching is to enhance image quality while preserving natural skin texture, realistic features, and the subject’s authentic appearance. Retouching does not aim to alter identity, body structure, or defining characteristics.
Unless otherwise specified in writing, standard retouching may include: — Exposure and color correction — White balance adjustments — Cropping and straightening — Minor skin cleanup while preserving texture — Removal of temporary blemishes or distractions — Subtle sharpening and tonal refinement Standard retouching does not include extensive manipulation or cosmetic alteration.
The following are not included unless explicitly agreed and may incur additional fees: — Body reshaping or slimming — Facial feature alteration — Removal of permanent features such as scars or tattoos — Background replacement or compositing — Heavy skin smoothing or plastic retouching — Digital makeup application — Artistic effects or filters Requests falling outside standard retouching are evaluated on a case by case basis.
Where applicable, clients may review selected images prior to final delivery. Revisions are limited to the scope included in the booked package. Revision requests must be reasonable, specific, and consistent with the Company’s retouching philosophy. Multiple revision rounds or subjective preference changes may be subject to additional fees.
Photography is inherently subjective. Differences in personal preference regarding appearance, expression, or style do not constitute defects or grounds for rejection where professional standards have been met. The Company does not guarantee personal satisfaction beyond adherence to agreed deliverables and professional execution.
Deliverables are defined by the selected package or written agreement and may include: — Final retouched digital images — Web optimised and print ready versions — Cropped variations for square, vertical, and horizontal use — Files delivered via secure digital transfer Raw files, unedited images, or outtakes are not delivered unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Unless otherwise agreed, delivered images may be provided in commonly used professional formats suitable for digital and print use. The Company determines appropriate file formats, color profiles, and resolutions to ensure optimal quality and compatibility.
Estimated delivery timelines are communicated prior to or during booking. Delivery timelines may vary based on project scope, image volume, and retouching complexity. Timelines are estimates and not guaranteed deadlines unless explicitly agreed in writing.
The Company may retain delivered images for archival or backup purposes for a limited period. The Company does not guarantee indefinite storage of files. Clients are responsible for downloading, backing up, and safeguarding delivered images once made available.
If a delivered file contains a demonstrable technical error attributable to the Company, the Company will make reasonable efforts to correct and re deliver the file. Technical errors do not include subjective dissatisfaction or preference changes.
This Policy should be read in conjunction with the Terms of Service and the Image Usage, Licensing and Intellectual Property Policy. In case of conflict, the Terms of Service prevail unless otherwise stated.
Fine Grain LLC reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time. Updated versions will be published on the website with an updated Effective Date.
